Muneera Carr is Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer with Wells Fargo & Co. In this role, she manages the global Controllership function which includes Corporate Tax, Accounting Operations, Accounting Business Unit Support, Financial Reporting and Enterprise Controls and Oversight for Wells Fargo. Prior to this role, she held the position of Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) with Comerica, Inc., a top 25 bank in the United States with over $70 billion in assets. As CFO, she was responsible for engaging, inspiring and leading the finance team which included individuals from Corporate Treasury, Controllership, Investor Relations & Sustainability, Procurement, Real Estate, Planning & Forecasting, and Business Finance. During her time as CFO, Comerica successfully completed its initiatives to improve efficiency and revenue and became the leader in its peer group for all financial metrics (ROE of 17.4%). She was successful in efficiently managing the capital ratio, lowering it from 11.46% to a target of 10%. During her time as CFO, she was able to raise $2 billion in capital markets and maintain appropriate levels of daily liquidity with supplemental short-term borrowings. Carr, who had been with Comerica for almost ten years, was previously the Chief Accounting Officer from 2010 to 2017.
